We packed up this morning and left Cortez, Colorado heading to Moab, Utah. It was only a 2 hr. drive, so before we knew it, we were checked in at the Spanish Trails RV Park. This is a very very nice park. Our views here at the RV Park are absolutely breathtaking. The tree's are so pretty this time of year.
We decided to head into town to do some exploring. The town of Moab looked like a lot of fun. Within a short distance from Moab is Arches National Park. We took a nice drive into the park, we had no idea just how beautiful it was. We really wanted to see Delicate Arch, so we checked out the trail and it looked like we could do it with no problem! So we were off!
We climbed and climbed and climbed. We gained an elevation of 480 ft. on foot. Delicate Arch is at an elevation of 4,829 ft. We were trekking along pretty well until the cliffs got steeper and steeper. Before I knew it I was glued to the edge and almost frozen to the rock wall! John had to cheer me on to keep going because we had gone so far there was no way we were going to miss out on seeing the Arch.
The views from this hike were amazing! When we made it to the top it was breathtaking. I tried not to embarrass John with how freaked out I was on the plateau. There were about 12 others that were up there along side us. I'm not sure why this height thing was getting to me. It really did scare me! All I was focusing on now was that I had to go back down the same way I came up. Well, I'm typing this blog so I did make it back. Yep, we both made it back safe and sound, no injuries. It was quite an amazing hike. 6 miles round trip. The temperatures were in the high 70's. I can't imagine doing this hike in the summer months!
We went back to the RV, I made a light supper and we spent the evening in relaxing and watched "The Voice". We are Exhausted!!! Amazing Day!

| I was not "acting" here...I was totally freaked out! The drop off was over 1000 feet down! The trail looks wide, but trust me, it didn't feel like it when one stumble and over you go with nothing to hang on to! |

I'm glad I didn't go, not because of the height or the climb. I wouldn't have survived the down hill walk with my knees! Whew, I'll be it was worth it.
