Day 58 ~ Checotah, Oklahoma

Today  was a day of travel.  We left Memphis at 7am and made really good time today.  Not very much to see on this drive.  We did stop and have breakfast along Route 40 plus a couple of good breaks to stretch our legs and some play time with the boys.

The roads were awful!!!  We felt like we were driving down Portal Way at 70 mph. ie..Klunk, Klunk, Klunk, Klunk...for about 100 miles.   It seems we have entered a mainstream highway for commercial cargo trucks.  We had a few laughs along the way,  seen some really strange things going down the highway ie....a car with a barbecue bungee'd to it's roof top, a ton of SEX Stores and we couldn't believe we didn't stop in the City Limits of Toad Suck City!  Really???  A City called Toad Suck?  Yep!

We made it to Checotah, Oklahoma where there was a wonderful KOA.  Checotah is about 90 miles from Oklahoma City.  We were pleasantly surprised to see that this is where Kerry Underwood is from.  You talk about the middle of nowhere!!

We stocked up on some groceries then took it easy for the evening.  We are planning on another early departure tomorrow morning.

Traveling is rough!
