Day 57 ~ Memphis, TN

Graceland....Wow!  But it has finally dawned on me that these places are extremely depressing.  When we get done with these tours I'm so darn sad.  Why did a legend like Elvis Presley have to die so young?  Well, we know why, but it's just so sad to walk where he walked and touch what he touched and to think he is no longer in this world.  Elvis certainly had it all!  His Graceland tour is so surreal.  It's almost like you are going back in time.  But to actually walk through his front door and experience the warmth of his home is amazing.  From the furniture, light fixtures, china, nick knacks, it's just amazing how it's all there just the way he last saw it.

We enjoyed the tour of the mansion, we also got to see his car collection.  It's been well put together!  We decided to have lunch at the premises before going back to the RV to give the dogs a break.  We spent a good 4 hours checking out everything.  It's definitely a Must See if you were ever interested in Elvis Presley.

We got back to camp and enjoyed a good hour in the park playing with the boys.  Great grounds to play fetch and just hang out.  We went back to the RV and took a nice afternoon break, enjoying a couple of walks in between.  I decided to do one more load of laundry since the laundry area was so nice.

After all the chores were done, we went back to finish up our tour of the Elvis Presley Exhibits.  We did Sincerely Elvis, The Airplanes tour, Elvis on Tour and '68 Special.  Absolutely had a fabulous time.  Such a great experience!  But I told John, no more sad places...

When we finished up touring the Elvis Exhibits, we walked back to camp and decided to get everything ready so we can get an early start tomorrow.  John worked on the outside of the fifth wheel, I worked on the inside.  It's funny, the boys hung outside with John and he could hardly get anything done because these dogs are like magnets...everyone comes over to tell us how beautiful they are.  If we had a dollar for every individual who has complimented our boys, we'd be rich!!

The day was great, just wished it could have lasted a little longer.  We are going to miss the State of Tennessee.

Our walk from the RV Park to Graceland!

It's ALL about Elvis here!!

Blury photo of living room in Graceland.  (can't use a flash!)
Upstairs is off limits.  Family still visits Graceland and stays upstairs

It was said that Elvis played this piano for some friends the day he died
Very emotional.  RIP

Just hanging out in Elvis's world.....
Just having fun!
