Day 63 ~ Cortez, Colorado

We woke up this morning to a "woof" "woof".  It was Tanner...we don't mind if it's time to get up and go for a break, but oh no, this was at 4:30 in the morning and we knew he didn't have to go out.  So I opened the door so both Tanner and Frankie could come see us.  This is not a common event.  Well, they both snuggled in with John and I.  Hmmmmm.  I sure hope this doesn't become a habit...It just isn't comfy with two yellow labs by your side taking up all the room in the bed!

We both ended up getting up around 6:00am.  We wanted to get an early start to our day.  Seems the boys wanted to sleep in now that we were up.  Crazy!!!  After our coffee and morning ritual of watching "Good Morning America", we took the dogs to the Cortez City Park to play fetch.  Such a beautiful day.  The skies are so blue here!  It is very chilly in the mornings but warms up nicely by mid afternoon.

After our time at the park, we took the boys back to the RV and then left for Mesa Verde National Park.  Mesa Verde was much larger than we had expected, 52,000 acres of Canyonland!  The dwellings were amazing.  You can take guided tours into the ruins, we didn't do this but plan to on our next visit.   The Cliff Palace was our favorite.  Amazing!  We so enjoyed the Chapin Mesa Museum and then had lunch at the Spruce Tree Terrace.  What a fabulous afternoon!

When we got back to the RV, John wanted to check out the local Antique Store here in town, so I stayed with the boys while he went there.  I decided to get our bedding changed and washed since the boys had decided to join us this morning and I also straightened up all of our brochures, maps and other booklets, they seem to add up quickly!

John got back around 5:00pm.  Apparantly there was a problem with the truck so he took it to a Dodge Dealer here in town.  Every time he pushed on the brakes a bell would ring.  No one at the dealership could figure out the problem so they scheduled an appointment for 8:00 am tomorrow morning.  The mechanics were stumped.  Once John got back to the RV Park he thought that maybe it could be the tail light.  Well guess what!!!  It was!  So, $6.00 later.....the problem was solved.  Can't believe the dodge dealership couldn't figure it out.

A home cooked meal, another play time at the park with the boys and our day was complete!  Great day!!Everyone is happy and all cuddled together in the 30 ft. Home away from Home.  "GOODNIGHT JOHN~BOY"

A Beautiful Morning at the Cortez City Park
