John and Jackie's Midwest Journey: Day 19 ~ Cedar Rapids, Iowa

It was a day of reuniting with family. What a wonderful day it has been! Our morning started out checking Tanner and Frankie into a boarding house so we could be with family today and not worry about them getting their breaks. Once we had that done, we met everyone for breakfast at HyVee's. How wonderful! I must say, here in Iowa their places of business are emmaculant! Especially their grocery stores. OMG!!! We had a great visit and were looking forward to seeing more of our relatives filtering into Iowa for the family gathering at Aunt Pearls.

Such a Happy Day! After breakfast, Lori and Jim asked if we all would be interested in going to the Farmer's Market downtown Cedar Rapids. This market was huge! There was music, crafts, artists, food, you name it, they had it! The weather was perfect! Barb, Kate, Jim, Lori, Chad, Dana and both John and I meandered through the large market with smiles on our faces just having a wonderful time. What a Great start to our day in Cedar Rapids.

Later in the afternoon we all met at Aunt Pearls as other relatives from all over the map were meeting there. It just turned out to be fantastic day. Jim and Lori and Aunt Pearl were so gracious to provide such a yummy spread of food for all of us. We left prior to dinner time to check in at the RV Park and Mike & Dee along with and Bob & Kandi followed along. We had a nice visit in our 5th wheel and plan on having a camp fire on Sunday night so we can share some more stories and eat smore's.

After our short visit with everyone, we drove back to Pearls home where "everyone" was meeting, such a wonderful surprise as Pearl had the Olive Garden cater a Lasagna dinner for all of us. I don't think John and I have eaten this much in months!!! It was an overall fantastic day and we are looking forward to more time together tomorrow!
