We left early today to head out to Lynchberg, TN. What a beautiful drive it was! The rolling hills were incredible along with all the stately homes we saw along the way. We were so excited to see the Jack Daniels Distillery. We could not have picked a better day to go.
Along the way we noticed the colors of the trees. It seems "Fall" is going to have an early arrival here in the South! All the locals are predicting an early color show! Our timing could not have been better!
The Jack Daniels tour was really good! Amazing how it all works! But I must admit, one whiff of that whiskey about knocked me on my butt!! Holly Molly...I certainly have a sensitive nose. I think both John and I were surprised how Jack Daniels died. Apparently he had a temper and he kicked his safe because he couldn't get it unlocked. Well, he injured his toe then gang green set in and spread up his leg. He had to have his leg amputated, then shortly died after that. Our Tour Guide believes he may have had diabetes which contributed significantly to his death.
Our day in Lynchberg was so much fun! We enjoyed the shops and of course visiting the locals there. We had some Moon Pies and had lunch at the Barbecue Barrel. So much to see and enjoy. The rain continued through the day and we were quite surprised by how much it rained.
Our drive back to Nashville was only 1-1/2 hr. Such a pretty drive. We picked up the boys from doggie day care and now we are just chillin' out and are going to relax this evening. Tomorrow is our big day at the Grand Ole' Opry. We have to be ready for this one!
