Day 30 ~ Nashville, TN

We have found ourselves amazed at all the things to see and do here in Nashville!  We got up earlier today to get a head start on our day.  John took the dogs to the daycare this morning which allowed me to get the 5th wheel polished up and vacuumed real good.  When he got back it was a surprise to see that he had gotten the truck washed and the inside detailed just the way I like it!

Our plan today was to see the Nashville Music Hall of Fame.  Thank goodness for our new GPS!  This thing takes us exactly where we want to go....I must admit it's been one of our best investments we've made in a long time.  Yes John....You were RIGHT!!

We left around 9:00am, arrived at the Hall of Fame and got really good parking.  We were very excited to see what was in store for us.  This place is huge, and they are expanding it!  A lot of construction going on and speaking with the staff it should be completed by 2014.  They say it's going to be so much better.  Imagine that, I couldn't believe that it could get any better, we were amazed at what we got to see today!  It took us about 2-1/2 hours to see everything.  The exhibits were wonderful, from Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Dwight Yokum, Taylor Swift, Loretta Lynn and of course Keith Urban.  I could go on and on...and of course who could forget Elvis Presley!  The Music Hall of Fame is an incredible tribute to the artists of the past and the artists who continue to bring wonderful music into our homes.  It was such a thrill to stroll through the exhibits.  John and I were especially amazed at the actual clothing of the artists and how small and thin they actually are!  Dwight Yokum's leather pants couldn't have been more than 8" in diameter from the thigh down!  We just laughed...we don't think these people eat!

After our morning at the Music Hall of Fame, we went to lunch at Margaritaville in downtown Nashville.  We walked through some more shops and stopped and listened to some of the music throughout the town.  It was another beautiful day, 81 degrees and blue skies.  I don't think we could get tired of this place.

As we were walking back to our truck, a man who had been parked in an area by our truck was pulling out .  He was driving a red convertible, stopped right in front of us....we looked to see if he saw us, he waved and that's when we realized it was Vince Gill!!!  Yep, that's right, he waved at us!  OK, we were a little star struck!

The traffic was pretty heavy tonight and we were a little concerned that we weren't going to make it in time to pick up the boys, but just one phone call, Jennifer who operates the Doggie Day Care said she would wait for us.  She just loves our dogs!  She calls them "My Boys" in her DEEP Southern accent...And seriously, she can't get enough of them!  We find that the people love to talk here, once we got there, she talked and talked and talked to us.  She had to share all her stories with Frankie and Tanner today.  Apparently everyone at the Day Care enjoy our boys and got a kick out of Tanner today.  He had his first love today!  He would just become submissive to this female English Bull Dog...He loved frolicking with her and she kept him clean by licking his face.  Frank on the other hand just wanted to fetch the ball.  It makes us feel so good that they enjoy our dogs and the dogs enjoy them!

Once we got back to the fifth wheel, the dogs crashed!  So we enjoyed visiting with our new friends here at the RV Park, then drove over to the Bass Pro Shop to just meander around.

Interior of Elvis Presley's Favorite Vehicle.... trimmed in 24 kt. gold and exterior paint was crushed diamonds & pearls.

John at the Music Hall of Fame

One of many guitars owned by Keith Urban!  This is his most unusual & he played this guitar during his "Love Pain and The Whole Crazy Thing Tour"  A 1954 Harmony Stratotone.  He calls it the "Runt" of all guitars!  He has a soft spot for unusual and ugly guitars!  (Maybe I do stand a chance!!!  lol)

Interesting to see the "big" city in the background of the Historic Downtown area.

Tanners "girlfriend" at the Doggie Day Care....(kinda scarey looking!)

Bass Pro Shop at the Opry Mill....Love this store!!!  Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Frequent this store!
