Day 20 ~ Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Another day with family here in Cedar Rapids.  We left early to go visit everyone at the Hampton Inn and see what was in store for us today.  After a late night last night, everyone was excited about having another fun day together like yesterday.

John and I had breakfast at the Hampton as we all discussed our days adventure.  We ended up driving to Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to the Annual Thresher.  John and I rode with Mike and Dee in their rental car.  It was a good hour and a half drive.  It started out muggy and overcast, but, and that is a big but....later the sun came out and boy was it Humid and Hot!  We are truly experiencing Iowa!  The Thresher was something to see.  It was a lot like a county fair.  So much to see and do.  Tractors, Steam Engines, Trains, Entertainment, Horses, tons of food!  We enjoyed watching the children.  John and I shared a Fry Bread Tostada and then later shared a Fry Bread Apple Butter and Cinnamon treat.  Good Stuff!

Later we had our first pork tenderloin sandwhich.  So much food and lot's to see.

We returned back to Cedar Rapids and took a much needed rest before everyone was to come over to roast hotdogs over the campfire.  What a blast we had tonight!  Lot's of chairs around the campfire, good stories, smore's, watermelon, beer & wine.....Another great time at Camp Nolte!!
