John and Jackie's Midwest Journey: Day 29 ~ Nashville, TN

Today is the anniversary of the 911 attack on the United States and of course our day started out solemn. All of us remember exactly where we were when this happened in 2001.

We started a little late but in no time we headed out to take the boys to the doggie daycare. Before going there we stopped off to see if we could get tickets to the Grand Ole Opry for the Sept. 18^th show. Dierks Bentley and Kellie Pickler are performing. First checking with the main ticket office we found out that there were no tickets left except for those in the upper balcony which were very far away. John then went to a local Grey Line office that purchased a block of tickets to see if they might have some better seats. We really lucked out as they had two tickets left that were in the front row near the left side of the stage. So we’re all set and can’t wait for this double performance!

After getting the dogs to the daycare we headed out to Franklin ,TN and Leipers Fork ,TN where many of the famous country singers reside. Also the town of Franklin has numerous shops to go shopping in and a couple of large antique malls.

We had a wonderful lunch at 55 South and I was surprised by John giving me a beautiful necklace that I had spotted in a shop before going to lunch.

We spent most of the day in Franklin and then headed to Leipers Fork which is about the size of Custer Washington, very small, but it’s where Keith Urban lives and frequents one of the local establishments, Puckett's Grocery and restaurant. We went in and bought a couple of drinks and went outside to wait for him. He never showed. Damn!!! lol!!!

We headed back to get the boys and returned to our camp site around 6PM. After getting something for dinner we spent the rest of the evening with a couple we met when we first arrived. It’s amazing how nice the folks are that are camping near us. We have made a lot of new friends and will hopefully meet up with them again when taking future trips.
